Help users over "email separation anxiety"

Friday, November 21, 2008

For a successful email archiving deployment, users need to be taught to overcome "email separation anxiety," one company has claimed.

Quantum Marine Engineering, which has recently implemented a new email archiving strategy, has explained that workers need to understand the concept of having an unlimited mailbox.

"Communicate with the user base early that this change will be a benefit, especially as it has the effect of increasing their mailbox size," the company advises on ITworld.com.

So too, it is important that firms make sure they force employees to stick to retention policies, the group added.

And in terms of scope, the firm noted that email archiving is an invaluable tool for any company that makes use of email services.

Meanwhile, eweek has claimed that disk-based data archiving can help businesses meet retention requirements without further investment in additional infrastructure.

Contributor George Krump alleged that such practices are particularly useful during periods of economic difficulty.ADNFCR-1765-ID-18889122-ADNFCR
